KAJI ASO STUDIO

ANNUAL APPEAL

Dear Friends of Kaji Aso Studio,

This year has been a big challenge, many nights burning the midnight oil to update skills from brush and paint to the complexities presented by new technologies. We feel we have risen to the challenge, broadened our scope, and are now able to reach farther with wider connections. People continue to look towards Kaji Aso Studio for sharing and talking about their art and acquainting themselves with the studio's rich legacy. Everyone is working steadily to explore their own work in that context.

As we head into the next year, we are looking to friends, family, and supporters for financial assistance. Your contributions will allow us to continue presenting and creating a space where we reach out and come together sharing “valuable moments of life”, friendship and art.

The studio energy remains undaunted.  Our new hybrid reopening, with a combination of in-person and online programming, is planned for early 2022.

And we have ably adapted to pandemic restrictions throughout with consistent online programming and classes.

  • Celebrating Kaji Aso Studio’s 48th year of existence, an online presentation of art, music and poetry titled “A Spot of Beauty”,      will be held on December 12 2021. Information and your     invitation will be sent by email.

  • Current weekly online classes include several watercolor options, drawing, Japanese Calligraphy classes, Haiku, and Zen poetry.

  • This year’s Haiku Contest received 272 entries from various countries including the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, India,  China, Romania and Australia. Please see the winners and honorable mentions published on our website  Click Here

  • We are very grateful for the continued important support from our community, city, state and the Japanese Consulate General of Japan in Boston.

We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to meeting online, and in-person soon, as we continue to share “Art as a Way of Life”.

Sincerely, The Trustees of Kaji Aso Studio, Institute for the Arts
